Apple updates Maps to gear up for 2024 Paris Olympics, and the results are gorgeous

The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are just around the corner, and Apple is showing up by giving the landmarks in its Maps app a beautiful overhaul in preparation for the Games.

 

Permanent venues like the Parc des Princes stadium and the Centre Aquatique Olympique are now showcased in stunning, hand-crafted 3D models.

 

This immersive visualization extends beyond Olympic sites, with iconic Parisian architectural icons such as Gare de l’Est train station, the Place de la Madeleine, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre receiving detailed renderings as well.

For the first time ever, Apple Maps is also integrating pop-up locations. This means temporary venues like competition spaces, souvenir shops, and public gathering areas will be readily visible within the app. This eliminates the need for attendees to rely solely on physical signage, making navigation during the bustling Olympic weeks a breeze.
