Status Is Down Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Discord is reportedly down for thousands of users on July 29. According to DownDetector, the volume of user reports surged sharply since around 6:38PM Eastern Time. Another outage tracking service IsDown is also indicating "a major outage" for Discord. Many users have also turned to social media to vent their frustration over the downtime. Discord's official status page shows that they are aware of "an issue that is impacting user's ability to start new sessions" and emphasized that they are "currently working on reverting the change responsible." Discord is an instant messaging and VoIP social platform that allows communication through voice calls, video calls, text messaging, and media and files. It’s primarily used by gamers, but its user base has expanded to include a variety of other topics. Discord’s communication can be private or take place in virtual communities called "servers".
