Deadpool keeps breaking the fourth wall at Disney's Avengers Campus

The Merc with a Mouth has officially invaded the Happiest Place on Earth. Deadpool, the irreverent anti-hero known for his sharp wit and even sharper claws, has made his unexpected debut at Disney California Adventure to coincide with the arrival of the Deadpool & Wolverine movie. The character, famous for breaking the fourth wall in the Marvel comics and films, is now doing the same at the iconic theme park—with Wolverine by his side.

 

Located within Avengers Campus, Deadpool has taken up residence in a cozy reading nook with his own segment, Story Time with Deadpool, where he regales unsuspecting parkgoers with his unique storytelling abilities mixed in with humor, chaos, and fourth-wall breaking.

 

 

 

While the family-friendly environment of Disneyland might seem an unlikely home for Deadpool, his appearance has injected a much-needed dose of irreverence into the park. He references Robert Downey Jr’s initiation as Doctor Doom after retiring his Iron Man suit, discloses his licensing terms with Disney that have permitted him to finally join the theme park, winks at the closure of Splash Mountain, and even mentions Grindr.

 

 

 

 

It remains to be seen how long Deadpool will remain at Disney California Adventure, but one thing is certain: his presence—punctuated by grand arrivals on a toy unicorn with NSYNC’s Bye Bye Bye playing in the background—has already made a lasting impression.
