Marshy
Banksy, the phantom of the spray can, has struck again. The elusive street artist, known as much for his disappearing act as his daring displays, was reportedly caught red-handed—or red-lensed—on CCTV just before unveiling his latest masterpiece in West London’s Kew neighborhood, according to MailOnline. The suspected Banksy and an accomplice were spotted in a cherry picker van around 5 a.m. in Kew on Monday, dressed in hi-vis vests. Imagine the surprise of Boss & Co. employees arriving for work to find a new, unexpected neighbor adorning their building. A goat, rendered in Banksy’s signature stencil style, in a precarious balancing act atop a ledge. Below the animal, rocks tumble downward, while a surveillance camera stares right back at the animal. Speculation is rife about the piece’s meaning. Is it a commentary on climate change? A dig at surveillance culture? Or perhaps a simple, if surreal, ode to goats? Only time, and maybe the artist himself, will tell. https://metro.co.uk/2024/08/06/banksy-caught-cctv-hours-new-artwork-appears-london-21369169/ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13713321/CCTV-creation-Banksys-latest-masterpiece-London.html Opening image: Banksy
