Roboticker
Image: Jimeng AI ByteDance, the tech powerhouse behind the viral sensation TikTok, has unveiled its latest innovation: a groundbreaking text-to-video generator named Jimeng AI. This cutting-edge software is set to redefine the landscape of content creation, offering users the ability to transform simple text prompts into dynamic videos. Jimeng AI, which translates to “instant dream,” is currently available to users in China. The application is accessible on the Apple App Store and various local Android platforms. This follows its earlier release of the desktop version in May. The launch of Jimeng AI marks ByteDance’s official entry into the AI space. The software stands out from its competitors by offering both image and video generation on the same platform. This unique feature positions Jimeng AI a step ahead of other AI tools in the market, including OpenAI’s DALL-E 3, which only offers text-to-image generating capabilities. Image: Jimeng AI Sora, OpenAI's yet-to-release video generator, was the first to draw up hype for the AI video-generation space, but is now falling behind in public rollout behind other competitors such as Luma Dream Machine and Runway's Gen-3 Alpha. Although Jimeng is free to download, there are several subscription tiers for users to choose from. Priced between $9.65 per month to around $92 annually, these plans allow users to generate approximately 2,050 images or 168 videos monthly. This monetization strategy could potentially open up new revenue streams for ByteDance, further solidifying its position in the tech industry.
