Status Is Down Posted August 9 Posted August 9  Instagram is reportedly down for hundreds of users on August 8, according to DownDetector.  Based on the graph showing on the outage tracking service, the volume of user reports first started rising around 9:31AM Eastern Time and has remained at an elevated level over the past hours. User remarks include "keep crashing on me when I open messages" and "haven't been able to follow, like, or comment."  Many Instagram users have also turned to another social media platform, X, to indicate connectivity issues.    Are you also facing difficulties connecting to Instagram today?
