Members Garth Gator Posted August 16 Members Posted August 16 Taco Bell’s latest menu is a time machine for your taste buds. The fast-food giant is bringing back five iconic items from the past, inviting fans to dip into nostalgia. From August 15 to August 21, diners can revisit discontinued flavors that defined decades past through the limited-time offering at select restaurants in Southern California. Now, let’s taco ’bout the lineup. The 1960s make a crispy comeback with the Tostada—a corn shell piled high with refried beans, zesty red sauce, lettuce, and a blanket of shredded cheese. For those craving a taste of the 70s, the Green Burrito wraps up refried beans, onions, and cheddar cheese in a tortilla, all smothered in a vibrant sauce concocted from green chiles, tomatillos, and jalapeños. The 80s aren’t left behind, bringing back the Meximelt—a soft tortilla embracing seasoned beef, pico de gallo, and a trio of melted cheeses. The 90s’ contribution is the Beef Gordita Supreme, featuring a pillowy flatbread stuffed with seasoned beef, a dollop of sour cream, crisp lettuce, cheese, and juicy tomatoes. Rounding out the retro feast is the Caramel Apple Empanada, a sweet reminder of the 2000s. This dessert boasts a crispy shell housing tender apple pieces swimming in gooey caramel. Currently, this tasty trip down memory lane is limited to three Taco Bell outposts in Irvine, Brea, and Fullerton, California as part of a test. However, based on customer response, the company is mulling over a potential nationwide release later in the year. https://www.foodandwine.com/taco-bell-nostalgic-menu-items-per-decade-8694682 https://www.allrecipes.com/taco-bell-testing-nostalgic-menu-8694666 https://www.mensjournal.com/news/taco-bell-nostalgic-menu-discontinued-items https://www.thedailymeal.com/1642369/taco-bell-returning-favorite-items-news/ Image: Taco Bell Quote
