Orange
Chick-fil-A is reportedly flying out of its coop of chicken sandwiches and waffle fries to wing it at… video streaming?! According to Deadline, which cites anonymous sources, the fast-food giant is preparing to launch its own streaming service, packed with original, family-friendly content. The unexpected pivot is said to encompass a variety of wholesome programming, from unscripted shows to game shows, all crafted to fall in line with Chick-fil-A’s family-friendly values. The news outlet hears (from a little birdie, perhaps?) that the chain is teaming up with major production companies to create and license content, with budgets reaching up to US$400,000 per half-hour episode. Among the planned offerings is a family-friendly game show from Glassman Media, the production company behind NBC’s The Wall. Chick-fil-A has also greenlit an all-new, 10-episode series from Sugar23, a production company with experience on platforms like Netflix and Apple TV+. It’s also looking to bring in animated projects. Chick-fil-A plans to roll out the platform later in the year. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/08/chick-fil-a-cooking-up-new-family-friendly-video-streaming-service/ https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/chick-fil-a-streaming-service-1236114065/ https://deadline.com/2024/08/chick-fil-a-hatches-streaming-service-1236044196/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/food/2024/08/21/chick-fil-a-streaming-service-reaction/74896259007/ Image: Georgesheldon | Dreamstime.com
