Marshy
Bruno Mars has taken his love for Japan’s quirkiest discount store to a whole new level. The Grammy-winning artist has become the latest face of Don Quijote, affectionately known as Donki to locals and savvy tourists alike. Mars isn’t just lending his image to the campaign—he’s thrown himself into the deep end of the discount pool, writing and performing a catchy jingle that's set to become the earworm of the season. Not only that, but he took charge of producing the commercial. Launched on August 20, the commercial is a feast for the eyes and ears. It transforms the aisles of Donki’s Shibuya flagship store into a neon-lit dance floor, with Mars leading a troupe of dancers in a choreographed shopping spree. The video’s house beat has Mars chanting, “Donki Ikuyo” (let’s go to Donki) alongside the store’s blue penguin mascot, Donpen. Fans can look forward to hoodies, T-shirts, and tote bags featuring a special Bruno Mars version of Donpen. Mars’ involvement in the campaign stems from a genuine appreciation for Japanese culture and Donki in particular. “Made a quick trip to Japan to get some snacks at my favorite store,” he quipped. https://soranews24.com/2024/08/24/bruno-mars-creates-commercial-for-japans-don-quijote-discount-retail-chain-【video】/ https://www.tokyoweekender.com/japan-life/news-and-opinion/the-new-face-of-donki-is-bruno-mars/ https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/129026998.html Images: Bruno Mars
