In a world where imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Melania Trump has once again proven herself a master of the art. The former First Lady’s upcoming memoir, simply titled Melania, is making waves not for its content, but for its cover—a striking black and white design that’s giving fashion enthusiasts a case of déjà vu.

If you’re feeling a sense of familiarity, you’re not alone. The minimalist cover bears an uncanny resemblance to Patrick Mauriès’ 2020 fashion bible, Chanel Catwalk. It seems Melania has taken the concept of “timeless elegance” to a whole new level, channeling Coco Chanel’s famous quote: “In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” Or in this case, eerily similar.

This isn’t the first time Melania has been caught in a copycat controversy. Who could forget her 2016 Republican National Convention speech that bore a striking resemblance to Michelle Obama’s 2008 Democratic National Convention address? It seems Melania has a knack for “borrowing” from the best, proving that great minds—and great designers—think alike.

The internet, as always, was quick to react. Social media was abuzz with chatter about the cover’s likeness to Chanel Catwalk, with users posting side-by-side comparisons and sharing their opinions on the resemblance.

But let’s not judge a book by its cover—or should we? According to the summary, Melania promises to be a “powerful and inspiring story” chronicling her journey from Slovenia to the White House. Former President Donald Trump, ever the supportive spouse, took to social media to pitch his wife’s book, writing, “If you love our former first lady as much as me, and are ready for the Truth, buy her new book now!”

The memoir is set to launch on October 1st, giving readers plenty of time to pre-order and ponder the age-old question: “Where have I seen this before?”

As for the cover choice, whether it was intended as a stylistic nod to classic fashion literature or simply a case of great minds thinking alike in design, it’s clear that Melania Trump’s memoir has captured public attention even before its release. And isn’t that what fashion—and politics—is all about?

The cover is just like many, many covers but she alone is a plagiarist, is that how it works? And if there were a photo of her on it that would be attacked too. The leftist crybully mob never ceases.
