This autumn, Taylor Swift fans have a novel reason to revel in the season. Two farms, situated in Ohio and Maryland respectively, have crafted intricate corn mazes inspired by the pop icon, giving Swifties a chance to literally get lost in their favorite artist’s world.

 

Ohio’s Swift-Inspired Spectacle

Wheeler Farms in Whitehouse, Ohio, has captured the internet’s attention with its extraordinary tribute to Taylor Swift. The farm has skillfully sculpted its cornfield into an awe-inspiring maze that, when viewed from above, reveals an intricate design. The maze features a lifelike portrait of Swift herself, her distinctive signature, and her iconic heart-shaped hand gesture. Adding to the homage, the design incorporates the pop star’s birth year and the title of her album '1989.' This remarkable creation has not only captivated local Swift enthusiasts but has also garnered international acclaim, with some devoted fans planning long-distance pilgrimages to experience this unique attraction firsthand.

 

 

 

Duke Wheeler, the proprietor of Wheeler Farms, offered insights into the maze’s creation process. “The intricate design demands time and an abundance of corn,” he remarked. Originally a Christmas tree farm, Wheeler Farms diversified into maze-making to bridge the gap before the winter season. Wheeler elaborated, “You work hard in the winter, [and then] you don’t have much work. So we got into a facility called the ‘Butterfly House,’ where we import butterflies all over the world, and then from there, we got a cornfield that’s 16 acres, and we started having mazes.”

 

Every year, Wheeler Farms unveils a new themed corn maze inspired by current trends. This year, Duke Wheeler sought inspiration from his family, with his daughter and grandchildren eagerly proposing a Taylor Swift theme. Swifties and maze enthusiasts can explore this cornfield wonder from September 21 through October 27. The maze is situated at 11455 Obee Road in Whitehouse, Ohio. Admission prices are as follows:

• Adults: $12
• Kids 4-9: $10 with an adult
• Kids under 4: Free with adult admission
• Seniors (65 & over): $10

Maryland’s Swift-Themed Extravaganza

On the East Coast, the Maryland Corn Maze in Gambrills is offering its own elaborate tribute to Taylor Swift with its 'Everything Taylor' maze. Carol Paul, the owner, announced the tribute, drawing inspiration from Time's Person of the Year honoree for this year's theme. The eight-acre spectacle features a 300-foot replica of Swift's guitar, along with friendship bracelets, musical notes, and heart-shaped hands, promising an engaging and challenging experience for both fans and adventure seekers.

Beyond the Taylor Swift-themed maze, the Maryland Corn Maze offers a variety of family-friendly activities, including:

For tech-savvy visitors, a GPS-coordinated phone game is available. A 16-foot tower stands at the maze's center, where a staff member keeps watch to guide lost guests. To enhance the Swift experience, Paul is introducing a 'Lavender Haze' inspired lemonade at the concession stands.
