EA confirms 'The Sims' movie with Margot Robbie's involvement

From pixel to picture, The Sims is about to get real. Electronic Arts (EA), the gaming giant behind the iconic The Sims franchise, is taking the plunge and bringing this beloved simulation to the silver screen.

 

Fans of the game, which has allowed players to build, create, and control virtual lives since 2000, will soon see their pixelated world come to life under the direction of Kate Herron, best known for her work on Disney+’s Loki. The script will be co-written with Briony Redman, and Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, is also onboard to bring this quirky universe to the big screen.

 

With over 500 million players worldwide, The Sims has been a cultural phenomenon for over two decades, giving players the freedom to shape everything from family dynamics to bizarre, often hilarious, life scenarios.

 

While plot details remain a mystery, fans can likely expect some of the game’s most iconic features to make an appearance.
