PlayStation Network is reportedly down for tens of thousands of players on September 30, according to DownDetector.

 

Based on the graph showing on the outage tracking service, the volume of user reports surged around 8:03PM Eastern Time.

 

Many gamers have also turned to social media to indicate connectivity issues.

Some games can stay online if you don't close the game and stay in the game.  Mostly games that don't use a psn server to play online game with.
