PANTONE splashes Trek Bicycles with landscape hues new to its spectrum

PANTONE and Trek Bicycles have pedaled into new territory, unveiling a new paint scheme riding on the back of the color authority’s fresh Dualities color palette. With PANTONE’s array featuring 175 new colors divided into two distinct moods—New Age Pastels and Shadows—this new bike design perfectly balances light and dark, creating a ride that’s as visually striking as it is smooth.

 

The Dualities palette splits into two contrasting sides: airy, playful pastels, and moody, dramatic shades. When brought together on a Trek Project One bike frame, these hues evoke a sense of harmony, capturing the beauty of an ever-shifting sky. From soft pinks and dreamy blues to deep blacks and stormy grays, the paintwork is as dynamic as the landscapes you might explore on a long ride.

Each bike in the collection is hand-painted, ensuring that no two are alike. The colors used—Peach Tree, Polaris Star, English Hyacinth, and Rocky Rims—are carefully sprayed onto a carbon fiber frame, giving the bike a level of depth and texture that feels almost ethereal. Inspired by the shifting hues of the sky, the design has a cloud-like quality that brings a touch of the cosmos to your daily trip.

 

 

 

The seatpost, however, breaks from the dreamy pastels with a dramatic shift to stormy, ultra-deep shades. Here, Trek's painters have employed a novel technique, applying an alcohol process over uncured paint. This method, a first for Trek's Project One bikes, produces a shadowy, water-like pattern that subtly bridges the gap between the deepest blacks and purest whites.
