Adobe is moving to close the digital skills gap with a newly expanded Adobe Digital Academy, aiming to equip 30 million people with essential knowledge in AI literacy, content creation, and digital marketing by 2030. Announced at Adobe MAX 2024, this initiative addresses the growing demand for digital skills in an evolving job market, offering learners a pathway into fields that are becoming increasingly critical. The program will provide training, certifications, and access to Adobe Express, a powerful app designed to help users easily create high-quality content.

The curriculum is set to cover a wide range of topics, from generative AI content creation and creative AI skills to social media marketing and multi-channel advertising. To deliver these courses, Adobe is collaborating with various partners, including Coursera, NGOs, schools, and universities, ensuring that learners from all walks of life have the opportunity to develop these in-demand skills. As part of this effort, Adobe is also committing over $100 million in scholarships, donations, product access, and partnerships to make the program as inclusive as possible.

The first courses are already available globally on Coursera, allowing learners to pick up creative and digital skills at their own pace. Content Creator and Graphic Designer Professional certificates are up for grabs, with Digital Marketing certificates set to launch in early 2025. Adobe is also committing $250,000 in scholarship licenses for the first year, distributed through nonprofits to ensure wider access.

Additionally, coursework will soon be available on Adobe Express, their user-friendly creativity app, with resources for the Behance community now in development.

“Adobe’s mission has always been to design products that create opportunities and empower people from all backgrounds to change the world,” explains Stacy Martinet, vice president of marketing strategy and communications at Adobe. “We want AI to bridge the digital divide not widen it, and this program will open doors for emerging professionals to succeed in the future workforce with AI literacy, content creation and marketing skills.”

The company is positioning this program as a way to equip people with AI literacy and digital skills without leaving anyone behind, giving more people the tools to succeed in a tech-driven future. To further expand access, Adobe is working with nonprofits such as the Girl Scouts and DECA, offering scholarships and making Adobe Express accessible to a wide audience.
