Orange
Adobe is flipping 2D graphics on their head, literally. At Adobe MAX 2024, the company introduced Project Turntable, an experimental tool that lets users rotate 2D vector art in 3D, all while preserving the original design’s flat aesthetic from every angle. Developed by Adobe research scientist Zhiqin Chen, this technology blends geometric modeling with machine learning to ensure that the graphics maintain their intended look, no matter how they’re turned. With just a click and a slider, users can manipulate their vector drawings, rotating them in 3D without distorting the original 2D style. The technology ensures that key design elements remain consistent, making it a valuable tool for creatives looking to experiment with new perspectives while keeping their designs intact. Project Turntable is part of Adobe's annual Sneaks program, a showcase of early-stage innovations that might one day find their way into Adobe's Creative Cloud suite. While not all Sneaks make the final cut, they offer a glimpse into the future of digital design tools. Images: Adobe
