In an innovative blend of fashion and automotive design, Mercedes-Benz and Moncler have teamed up to create the limited-edition G-Class Past II Future. Unveiled at Shanghai’s prestigious City of Genius show, this exceptional project, led by visionary fashion designer NIGO, reimagines the iconic G-Wagon through Moncler’s distinctive lens, fusing heritage with modern design.

The G-Class Past II Future pays homage to its roots, taking inspiration from a meticulously restored 1990s G-Wagon. Its exterior features a refined two-tone olive green and grey finish, complemented by subtle matte black trim and elegant gold accents. One of its standout details is the custom rear-mounted spare wheel, emblazoned with the Mercedes-Benz x Moncler emblem, giving the vehicle a unique touch.

Inside, the cabin strikes a thoughtful balance between tradition and luxury. Tartan-patterned seats provide a nod to the vehicle’s heritage, while a center console proudly displays a '1 of 20' plaque, marking each unit’s place in the limited series. Classic G-Class elements are seamlessly integrated with modern updates, delivering a driving experience that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.

The creative vision behind the collaboration extends beyond automotive design, with a capsule fashion collection set to launch in April 2025. Co-designed by Mercedes-Benz, Moncler, and NIGO, the collection will feature gender-neutral streetwear that blends vintage aesthetics with modern fashion trends.

The City of Genius show, where the car debuted, was a vibrant celebration of art, fashion, and innovation. With collaborations from prominent artists such as A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, and Willow Smith, the event highlighted the seamless intersection of design across multiple industries, with the G-Wagon as a central feature.

Limited to just 20 units, the G-Class Past II Future is expected to become a sought-after collector’s item. As the G-Wagon marks its 45th anniversary, this collaboration demonstrates how two seemingly distinct worlds can converge to create something extraordinary, setting a new benchmark for future innovations in both automotive and fashion.
