Who would have thought the sound of frying chicken could help you sleep? In a surprising twist that merges comfort food with comfort sounds, KFC has teamed up with sleep wellness company Hatch to turn the sizzle of their Original Recipe Tenders into a soothing sleep aid called Kentucky Fried Chicken Rain.

This unusual collaboration was inspired by a viral social media trend, where users pointed out how the crackling sound of frying chicken closely resembles the gentle patter of rainfall. Hatch, known for its premium sleep audio content and devices, saw the opportunity to create something truly one-of-a-kind—a soundscape designed to help restless sleepers drift off, perfect for both fried chicken enthusiasts and those in need of calming ASMR.

“When we kept seeing social media posts about the similarity between frying chicken and rain, we decided to make the absolute best version of that audio,” said Eric Pallotta, CMO at Hatch. Catherine Tan-Gillespie, KFC’s U.S. Chief Marketing and Development Officer, added with a playful nod, “The taste and smell of our secret blend of 11 herbs and spices may be iconic, but who knew the sound of that delicious chicken frying could help you fall asleep?”

The audio experience is accessible through multiple platforms. Users can enjoy it via the Hatch Restore 2 smart sleep device with a Hatch+ premium subscription or stream it for free on the Hatch for Sleep YouTube channel and Spotify page. For fans who want to take their love for the collaboration a step further, a limited-edition Hatch x KFC Sleep Shirt is available at KFCShop.com.

This playful initiative is the latest in KFC’s lineup of quirky marketing campaigns, which have included everything from a KFC-scented fire log to a one-of-a-kind perfume, complete with a bottle humorously shaped like a chicken drumstick. With Kentucky Fried Chicken Rain, KFC and Hatch have created an unexpected oasis of calm, mixing sound therapy with a dash of fast-food fun to guide people toward dreamland.

How about you—will you be tuning in to fry your way to better sleep?
