BE@RBRICK x MoMA roll out eye-popping Bluetooth speaker with movable hand controls

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and Medicom Toy Corporation are asking fans to bear with them as they create a speaker set to be music to collectors’ ears.

 

Dubbed the BE@RBRICK Audio Color Block 400%, this special-edition Bluetooth speaker not only plays your favorite tunes through high-quality audio technology but also doubles as a piece of modern art. 

 

 

This vibrant device—a spin on Medicom’s limited-edition BE@RBRICK Audio 400% speaker, which itself is modeled after the 400% bear-shaped figurine—sports a colorful, translucent shell that offers a peek at the inner workings beneath the playful exterior. Over 20,000 hours of engineering and 214 custom-designed parts went into crafting the audio masterpiece.

The speaker packs some impressive sound, thanks to QUAD-360 omnidirectional audio from Rinaro. With two tweeters and two woofers, it promises immersive audio no matter where you place it. Bluetooth 5 technology provides longer range and higher bandwidth, and the battery offers up to six hours of playtime, though mileage may vary based on volume and content.

 

 

Adding to the fun, the BE@RBRICK’s movable hands serve as playback controls, letting users twist them to pause or change tracks.
