Stardew-Valley-Mobile-iOS-Android-Multiplayer-Beta-ConcernedApe-Concerned-Ape-1.jpg

Stardew Valley fans have something new to plow through—an experimental multiplayer mode for the beloved farming simulator's mobile version, cleverly hidden behind the famous Konami Code.

Part of the latest 1.6.9 update, this feature lets players team up on their virtual farms directly from their mobile devices.

You'll need to be in the know in order to unlock this hidden mode. Players need to input a sequence of commands on the title screen: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, followed by tapping the “?” button in the corner.

Stardew Valley 1.6 on mobile has a secret experimental multiplayer added by ConcernedApe

Once this code is entered, the elusive “co-op” option appears, allowing users to either host or join multiplayer sessions.

But there’s a catch: all players must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network or use a hotspot, as connections are made via IP addresses.

The feature is still in the beta stage, meaning it comes with its fair share of bugs and hiccups, but it offers a promising new way for players to collaborate.

The game’s creator, Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe, has emphasized that this feature is purely experimental, and has warned of potential connectivity issues, particularly when trying to host games using mobile devices.

To get the best experience, Barone suggests hosting the game on a PC while connecting over Wi-Fi with mobile devices, as this setup tends to minimize the disruptions that come with relying on cellular networks. Players are encouraged to share their experiences, as their feedback will help shape future updates.

This addition to Stardew Valley addresses a long-standing wish from the community: multiplayer capabilities for mobile users. Unlike their console and PC counterparts, mobile players have been restricted to solo play until now. While this experimental multiplayer mode may not yet be as seamless as its console and PC versions, it gives players a taste of co-op farming and the joys of working the fields with friends.
