Administrators Orange Posted November 20 Administrators Posted November 20 Valentine’s Day has come early as LEGO’s latest creation proves that all you need is LOVE—and about 800 plastic bricks. The toymaker has unveiled a new set that brings Robert Indiana’s iconic pop art masterpiece from street corner to coffee table. The 791-piece set, slated for release on January 1, 2025, recreates Indiana’s beloved LOVE sculpture at a display-friendly 10 inches tall. Following the original’s bold aesthetic, the model features the same vivid red letters against alternating blue and green backgrounds, complete with Indiana's signature tilted "O" that gave the piece its playful charm. This brick-built tribute arrives just as Indiana’s creation marks its 55th anniversary. The original design first appeared on a Museum of Modern Art Christmas card in 1965, before evolving into the three-dimensional sculpture that would capture public imagination. The most famous version stands in Philadelphia’s John F. Kennedy Plaza, installed in 1976 and becoming such a city landmark that the space is now commonly known as LOVE Park. LEGO’s interpretation joins the company’s Art series, which has previously transformed other artistic giants into brick form, including Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night and Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Priced at $79.99, the artful set comes with two instruction booklets, encouraging builders to share the experience or tackle it solo as a mindful activity. The original LOVE sculpture has spawned numerous versions worldwide, each sharing Indiana's message of universal connection through bold typography and simple design. Now, LEGO’s version offers art enthusiasts and builders alike a chance to keep a piece of pop art history within arm’s length. https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/love-31214 https://www.brothers-brick.com/2024/11/11/next-lego-art-set-revealed-31214-love-news/ https://www.phillyvoice.com/love-park-sculpture-model-lego/ https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-art-31214-love-2025-set-officially-revealed/ Images: LEGO Quote
