In collaboration with the popular YouTube show Hot Ones, McDonald's is launching three new limited-edition spicy sauces, available for a brief five-week run starting November 5, 2024. For those brave enough to handle the spice, these sauces promise a unique flavor journey, each offering a taste inspired by the Scoville scale. The first of the trio, ‘Hell Piñata’, offers a moderate heat level with a smoky chipotle twist. The mayonnaise-based sauce comes in at 10,000 Scoville units, providing just enough warmth without overwhelming the palate. Next up, ‘Thaï-toi’ brings an Asian flair with its sweet and sour profile, featuring ginger and lemongrass, and clocking in at a much spicier 70,000 Scoville units. Finally, there’s ‘Embrase-moi’, a bold BBQ sauce with habanero peppers and a citrus finish, cranking the heat to over 200,000 Scoville units. Each of these sauces was crafted to pair perfectly with McDonald's Chicken McNuggets or Veggie McPlant Nuggets. Fans of the show will recognize the inspiration, as Hot Ones regularly invites celebrities to endure spicy wings while fielding tough questions. McDonald’s France is bringing that playful, spicy energy directly to its customers by adding a special game on the McDo+ app. While savoring these spicy sauces, customers can engage in answering “spicy” questions, a nod to the famous show’s format. This isn’t McDonald's first playful collaboration, but it’s certainly among the boldest, aimed at adventurous diners ready to feel the burn.
