Administrators Orange Posted November 26 Administrators Posted November 26 While Jaguar faces massive pushback with its recent rebrand, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is making sure the real jaguar—the one prowling the Amazon—isn’t forgotten. In response to the car company’s sleek new logo, WWF Germany has taken to social media with a pointed conservation message that puts the focus back on nature. Jaguar’s updated branding features a geometric wordmark, blending uppercase and lowercase letters to symbolize its pivot towards an all-electric future. But WWF Germany used the opportunity to address a much more urgent issue: the declining cat population. View this post on Instagram A post shared by WWF-Canada (@wwfcanada) In its post, the organization shared an image depicting the evolution of the car brand’s logos over time, with the latest design conspicuously replaced by a blank space. The wild cat is in danger of disappearing altogether if action isn’t taken. Quote Thank you, Jaguar, for reminding us all, and especially Elon Musk, that there are more important things than selling cars. Namely, preserving species. WWF went on to underscore the grim reality facing jaguars today. Over the last half-century, the big cat has lost over half of its natural habitat, and in certain areas, it is at risk of extinction. WWF Germany is using this moment to raise awareness and call for support in protecting jaguar habitats, especially in the Amazon, where these iconic predators are under increasing pressure.
