Members Garth Gator Posted Thursday at 06:32 PM Members Posted Thursday at 06:32 PM Target’s holiday campaign has social media users checking their lists twice, but not for the usual reasons. The retail giant has reimagined Santa Claus as a muscular counterpart who’s more likely to hit the gym than slide down chimneys, sparking thirst among viewers, who now proclaim him to be “Daddy Claus.” Instead of the traditional jolly old man in a red suit, Target has given us Kris K., a Santa is younger and more muscular, played by actor Brent Bailey. The commercials showcase Kris K. as a Target employee with a secret identity. Throughout the ads, this modern Santa is seen charmingly interacting with shoppers, offering help, and spreading a different kind of holiday cheer. Lisa Roath, Target’s Chief Marketing Officer, described Kris K. as embodying the spirit of joy and helpfulness—with just a dash of playful wit—giving Santa a more contemporary and relatable twist. The whole activation aims to bring a bit of whimsy and warmth to the holiday shopping season. Roath summed it up by saying that Kris K.’s character embodies the magic Target wants to deliver to its shoppers—helpful, joyful, and maybe just a little flirty. Whether this Santa helps sell more holiday sweaters remains to be seen, but it’s clear fans are now hoping to run into “Daddy Claus” on their next shopping trip. https://people.com/target-sets-holiday-thirst-trap-hot-santa-new-ads-internet-lusting-8752947 https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/target-santa-commercial-2024-actor-hot-b2654852.html https://www.today.com/life/holidays/target-hot-santa-ad-rcna181874 https://nypost.com/2024/11/26/lifestyle/santa-baby-target-gives-kris-kringle-a-sexy-makeover-in-new-holiday-ads-and-lusty-viewers-cant-get-enough/ Image: Target Quote
