Bottega Veneta unveils woven twist on Richard Scarry's 'Biggest Word Book Ever' & galore

Bottega Veneta takes a leaf out of the book of Richard Scarry with a capsule collection inspired by the beloved children’s author, weaving high fashion with the playful charm of Scarry’s vibrant illustrations.

 

Revealed during their Spring/Summer 2025 presentation in Milan, the collection reimagines Scarry’s iconic Biggest Word Book Ever, and gives it a signature Bottega makeover, complete with their famous woven Intrecciato leather.

 

 

 

The standout piece is an oversized edition of Scarry’s 1985 book, measuring a substantial 62.5 by 42.5 centimeters (24.6 by 16.7 inches). The cover has been luxuriously redone in Bottega Veneta’s iconic woven leather, and features Lowly Worm—that lovable character with his Tyrolean hat and single shoe—gracing the front.

 

 

 

 

The collection also includes a sketchbook with blank pages and a customizable tag, giving its owners a chance to add their own personal touches, keeping in spirit with Scarry’s creative world.

 

 

Creative Director Matthieu Blazy has long admired Scarry’s work, and his passion is evident in the way this collection brings to life the playful energy of Scarry’s illustrations. Alongside the book, Blazy has infused the collection with smaller accessories, like a coin pouch shaped like an apple—a nod to Scarry’s famous character, Lowly Worm. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to evoke the nostalgia of childhood.
