Loewe Debuts ‘Grass’ Sneakers That’ll Have You Walking Where It’s Always Greener

Loewe’s newest sneakers will give green thumbs (and toes) a chance to always carry a piece of nature with them wherever they go. Don’t worry; if you can’t keep a plant alive for more than a week, these grass-laden shoes won’t die on you anytime soon. Unlike Loewe’s real-life grass sneakers created as a teaser for the Spring/Summer 2023 collection, this version is more plastic in nature, so to speak.

Contrary to what your eyes might tell you, the green part is raffia, which might give off the illusion of real foliage from a mile away. Meanwhile, the material is attached to a canvas body. The shoes also sport traditional laces that peak out through the green, and a rubber sole that extends up the toe box and the back of the heel.

The sneakers follow Loewe’s final collection with Studio Ghibli, which features bags, clothes, and accessories dedicated to Howl’s Moving CastleFor plant lovers looking to rep Mother Nature on their feet, the shoes are now available online for US$1,700.   [via Highsnobiety and Loewe, images via Loewe]
