Apple Unveils 2023 iMacs Featuring M3 Chips And Ray-Tracing

Apple recently introduced a new 24-inch iMac equipped with the M3 chipset during its ‘Scary Fast’ event. This latest offering brings substantial performance improvements compared to its predecessors.The M3 chipset is the star of the show, featuring an eight-core CPU and the ability to house up to 10 cores in its GPU. It also supports hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing, making it a powerhouse for graphics-intensive tasks and gaming. Moreover, the M3 incorporates a 16-core Neural Engine and allows for up to 24GB of unified memory.

In terms of real-world performance, the M3 iMac offers a notable 30% speed boost in Safari and productivity applications when compared to the M1 iMac released in 2021. Gamers will also appreciate the up to 50% improvement in frame rates, while creatives can effortlessly edit and playback up to 12 4K video streams.

The new iMac retains its 4.5K Retina display, but there have been improvements in connectivity with the addition of Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring smoother and faster connections.
