Doom, now ready to play on... your gut bacteria

Recommended Posts

For her final project in a Synthetic Biology class, an MIT biotech researcher took the whole "Doom runs on everything" meme to a whole new level by using E. coli bacteria to display the game. Yeah, you read that right. π˜Ώπ™€π™€π™’ 𝙀𝙣 π™œπ™ͺ𝙩 π™—π™–π™˜π™©π™šπ™§π™žπ™–.Β

She didn't actually cram the entire game into the DNA of these microbes, but she did use them as a sort of living, low-res 32x48 grid screen. A project that takes blood, sweat and guts.
