Sony Debuts Handheld Gaming Device, The ‘PlayStation Portal’

Sony has introduced the PlayStation Portal, a handheld gaming device that puts your PS5 into the palm of your hand.

This isn’t Sony’s first foray into handheld gaming. For those that remember, in 2005, it debuted the PlayStation Portable, or PSP, and later in 2011, the PSP Vita. While the devices looked promising and held up against Nintendo’s Gameboy and DS range, they faded into the shadows of the gaming sphere. Now, the concept is back again, but with a twist.

The Portal will not be housing any specially made games, but instead, it will utilize PlayStation’s Remote Play feature, so essentially, you’ll be able to stream your PS5 games directly onto it.
