Sony Makes Online ‘Creator’s Cloud’ Tools Available To Individuals For Free

If you use a Sony camera or own a compatible account, you might be pleased to know that the company is rolling out its professional cloud-based tools for individual or small teams of content creators. The web suite—introduced in September last year—was previously exclusive to enterprise users and those in the media and entertainment sectors, but a curated version of it is now here to simplify the uploading, editing, sharing, and networking process for everyday creatives.

With Creators’ Cloud, Sony envisages the cloud to be just as crucial as the camera. The tech giant says creators can harness the convenience of the cloud to work seamlessly with their hardware—enabling immediate photo and video transfers, quick edits, and fast collaborative work. For instance, it says you could upload content and have it accessed from multiple devices without any hassle.

Creators’ Cloud, available online at no cost, includes 25 GB of free cloud storage for select Sony camera owners and 5 GB of free cloud space for anybody with a Sony account, allowing users to make file uploads from their gear to their phone and cloud. The initial version also offers remote camera control, says Sony.
