Steam servers are reportedly down for thousands of players on August 23, according to DownDetector.

 

Based on the graph showing on the outage tracking service, the volume of user reports surged around 10:46PM Eastern Time.

 

Some gamers have also turned to social media to indicate connectivity issues.

 

 

Based on the latest charts on Steam, the most played game on August 23 is Black Myth: Wukong, Counter-Strike 2, Banana, DOTA 2, and PUBG: Battlegrounds.

 

 

'Black Myth: Wukong' is China's first AAA game which broke multiple records on its launch a day ago, so it's likely that the outage is due to the interest surge in the new game.
