Is Fandom down?

Fandom.com is reportedly down for many users on September 2, according to DownDetector.

 

Based on the graph showing on the outage tracking service, the volume of user reports first started surging around 12:35PM Eastern Time, and continued to fluctuate at elevated levels since.

 

A number of readers have also turned to social media to lament about the downtime, citing the coincidence of the outage of another fandom favorite Archive of Our Own (AO3).

 

Fandom, formerly known as Wikia, is a comprehensive wiki hosting service that primarily focuses on entertainment topics such as video games, TV series, movies, and entertainers. Founded in 2004 by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales and Angela Beesley Starling, Fandom has grown to become a significant platform for fan communities. As of December 2022, Fandom boasts an impressive user base of 350 million.
