Coloroscopio
The new queen of Twitch isn’t of flesh and blood—she’s a virtual persona (or VTuber) known as Ironmouse who has just bubbled to the top of the platform’s subscription charts. This pink-haired, anime-style avatar represents a real person—a content creator from Puerto Rico who’s been steadily building her online presence since 2017. Now, she’s hit a milestone in the streaming community with over 314,000 active subscribers (and 2.1 million followers overall on Twitch), dethroning the previous record-holder, Kai Cenat, whose peak stood at 306,000. Ironmouse’s streams run the gamut from anime discussions and live singing to voice acting, art showcases, and gaming sessions, drawing a community with interests across genres. A major factor behind this recent surge, however, was Twitch’s Subtember event, which offers discounted subscriptions and bonus subs. During the event, Ironmouse benefited from Twitch’s “gacha-like” mechanics, where users who donated subs could receive extra gift subscriptions from the platform. This, along with the excitement of Twitchcon, helped her rack up at least 12,000 additional subs, pushing her to the top. Ironmouse’s subathon not only boosted her subscriber count but also raised funds for a meaningful cause. As someone living with common variable immune deficiency, she chose to support the Immune Deficiency Foundation, bringing both awareness and resources to those affected by similar conditions. https://kotaku.com/ironmouse-kai-cenat-twitch-vtuber-sub-record-1851661798 https://www.talkesport.com/streaming/ironmouse-becomes-the-most-subscribed-twitch-streamer/ https://aftermath.site/ironmouse-twitch-subscriber-record-kai-cenat-2024 Opening image: Buffikk | Dreamstime.com and Twitch
