Legendary English rock band The Cure has partnered with Schecter Guitars to release two limited-edition guitars in support of cancer research. The designs, the Robert Smith Shellflower UltraCure and the UltraCure VI, feature unique artwork by Bunny Lake Design and are available in a highly limited run.

This initiative holds personal significance for the band, as keyboardist Roger O’Donnell recently revealed that he battled "a very rare and aggressive form of lymphoma" last year. Fortunately, he has since recovered and is now urging fans to get tested and stay proactive about their health. His experience adds a heartfelt layer to the band’s charitable efforts.

Robert Smith, the band’s iconic frontman, is personally contributing $250 from each guitar sold, with Schecter Guitars matching his donation. This brings the total donation to $500 per guitar, with all proceeds going to the World Cancer Research Fund International (WCRF), a global charity dedicated to advancing cancer research and promoting public health education.

With just 75 guitars available, these instruments are not only rare but also deeply meaningful. Each one includes a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Robert Smith and comes with a custom hardshell case, offering fans a unique opportunity to own a piece of rock history while supporting an important cause.

In other exciting news, the influential band is preparing to release their first album in 16 years, Songs of a Lost World, set to drop on November 1st. They’ve already teased fans with two singles, Alone and A Fragile Thing, both of which have been met with high praise. To celebrate, they will perform a special 6Music session at the BBC Radio Theatre in London on October 30th, followed by an intimate performance for Radio 2 In Concert. Looking ahead, the band is hinting at even more exciting projects, including a potential tour in autumn 2025 and a documentary.

This period marks a pivotal time for The Cure, as their passion for music and their desire to give back come together. Could this be the beginning of even more innovative collaborations for a cause? Fans, are you excited to see what's next?
