Bubble, bubble, coffee trouble! Starbucks is brewing up some theatrical magic with two new drinks that’ll have musical fans in the US, Canada, and other participating markets defying gravity—and their usual coffee order.

 

The coffee giant has partnered with Universal Pictures to celebrate the upcoming Wicked movie release, introducing Glinda’s Pink Potion and Elphaba’s Cold Brew on October 22, 2024. Each beverage channels the distinct personalities of the story’s leading witches.

 

Glinda’s Pink Potion combines Mango Dragonfruit Refreshers with coconut milk and freeze-dried dragonfruit pieces, topped with strawberry cold foam and festive candy sprinkles.

“When dreaming up this beverage, we were inspired by Glinda’s bright character and her iconic association with all things pink,” explains Starbucks beverage developer Natalia Vasquez. “This colorful beverage is topped with a nondairy cold foam infused with strawberry puree to add even more pops of pink, along with colorful candy sprinkles for a drink that is as vibrant as Glinda herself.” 

 

Taking an eerier turn, Elphaba’s Cold Brew features the chain’s signature cold-steeped coffee with a twist of peppermint syrup. The drink gets a striking green touch from matcha cold foam and matching candy sprinkles.

According to developer Rosalyn Batingan, this option draws inspiration from Elphaba's determined nature and iconic emerald complexion.

 

“We were inspired by Elphaba’s bold energy and stunning green skin when creating this recipe,” shares Batingan. “Our signature cold brew gets an unexpected twist of peppermint topped with a nondairy matcha cold foam for a touch of Elphaba’s famous green, finished with colorful candy sprinkles.” 

 

Fans looking to bring some Oz home can browse through specially designed merchandise including cold cups, tumblers, and keychains decorated in shades of pink, green, and gold. These items join the limited-time beverage offerings while supplies last.
