'Gladiator II' popcorn bucket places the Colosseum—and a gladiator battle—on your lap

Is this the popcorn bucket to end all popcorn bucket fights? Hot on the heels of the notorious Dune 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine collectibles, Cinemark has unleashed a bucket that brings a slice of ancient Rome to your theater seat.

 

With Gladiator 2 set to hit theaters on November 22, 2024, the theater chain has turned the humble movie snack vessel into an architectural mini-me of the Colosseum.

 

 

This replica of Rome’s famous amphitheater doesn’t just hold your popcorn—it’s also an interactive experience that springs to life when you scan its QR code with your smartphone. The special edition, in fact, is called the AR-ENA Bucket.

 

When activated, the code transforms the container into a mini battleground where stars Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal engage in digital, gladiatorial combat.

 

 

Unsurprisingly, audiences think this memorabilia is (almost) to die for.

 

“Popcorn bucket technology advancing much faster than literal human civilization,” says one fan.

 

“Who’s ready to fight for their snacks?” asks another.
