Moschino's unreal $4,995 celery bag makes grocery lists worth a stalk

Something fresh is growing in the aisle of avant-garde fashion with Moschino’s new peculiar accessory: the Sedano Bag, a celery-shaped clutch crafted from faux leather. 

 

 

Designed to resemble a crisp stalk of celery, the playful piece comes in vibrant green, complete with ribbed detailing and a hidden magnetic closure. Part of the fashion label’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection, this quirky addition adds a literal “green” touch to the season’s runway looks.

 

 

Surprisingly detailed, the Sedano Bag—priced at $4,995—is handmade in Italy, with vegetal elements crafted from soft nappa leather in multiple shades of green for texture and depth.

 

 

The leaves and branches are built with a wire core, allowing them to bend and adjust for just the right shape and volume, just like something plucked from the produce aisle. To enhance its lifelike quality, the piece’s exterior features a digital print based on a photograph of actual celery.

 

 

 

The bag marks a creative debut for Adrian Appiolaza, Moschino’s new creative director. His collection leans heavily into hyperrealism, featuring other playful accessories, including an actual baguette-shaped bag and a clutch that mimics a simple bakery paper bag.

 

 

On the runway, all three purses were styled together on a model, as if fresh from a whimsical errand run, with the baguette and celery peeking from the paper bag.
