Converse Upcycles Chucks From Used Flannels In 90s-Style Grunge Revival

This season, Converse is channeling the nostalgic spirit of the 90s in an environmentally-conscious way with the new Converse Upcycled Flannel Chuck 70 collection—paying homage to both the timeless Chuck Taylor All Star and the iconic grunge style of the bygone decade.

Drawing inspiration from its own archives, Converse has collaborated with its sourcing partner, UK-based fashion and vintage retailer Beyond Retro, on the project.

This partnership allowed the shoemaker to breathe new life into pre-loved flannel shirts by transforming them into stylish Chuck 70 uppers. On average, each pre-loved flannel shirt was skillfully transformed into two pairs of sneakers.
