Bugatti, the 115-year-old French marque, has unveiled its first electrified hypercar, the Tourbillon. This isn’t just another evolution of the Chiron; it’s a showcase to Bugatti’s embrace of electrification while staying true to its heritage of unbridled power and automotive excess.

The Tourbillon, priced at a staggering $4.1 million and limited to only 250 units, is currently in the testing phase. It’s powered by an all-new hybrid powertrain that generates a whopping 1,800 horsepower, up from 1,500 horsepower in the Chiron. This powertrain includes a naturally aspirated V16 engine and three electric motors, marking a monumental shift for the French marque.

The cabin of the Tourbillon is an intricate work of art. It showcases a mechanical gauge cluster crafted with the expertise of Swiss watchmakers. This cluster is comprised of over 600 parts, comprising of materials such as gemstones and titanium. This intricate detailing reflects Bugatti’s dedication to precision and luxury.

The center console of the Tourbillon is another highlight. It’s crafted from aluminium and custom crystal glass. This combination of materials adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the interior.

This hypercar is the first new design from the company since it merged with electric sports car maker Rimac in 2021. The Tourbillon also introduces what’s called dihedral doors, which swing out and up, adding a unique touch to its design.

The Tourbillon can reach a top speed of 248 mph, making it a formidable contender in the hypercar market. It’s not just about speed, though. The Tourbillon is also about heritage, craftsmanship, and artisan work.
