Members Enter Stage Rite Posted July 9 Members Posted July 9 Image: ZUMA Press, Inc. / Alamy Stock Photo Following Justin Timberlake’s arrest for driving under the influence (DWI) in June, his mugshot has taken on an unexpected second life. The singer faced a single misdemeanor charge, with prosecutors citing Sag Harbor Police Officer Michael D. Arkinson’s statements about Timberlake’s bloodshot eyes, unsteady demeanor, and failed sobriety tests. Enter artist Godfrey Lohman. Inspired by Andy Warhol’s pop art portraits, Lohman saw a unique opportunity. Using inkjet prints on canvas, he transformed the now-iconic mugshot into a contemporary masterpiece titled Tuesday Night Out Featuring Justin Timberlake. The vibrant colors and bold lines capture the star’s image. Gallery owner Romany Kramoris couldn’t hide her enthusiasm upon seeing Lohman’s creation. “My reaction was, ‘Oh my God! That's great! It’s just great!'” she exclaimed to Page Six. The artwork has become a focal point, drawing visitors who spot it through the gallery window. Leslie Raff, a gallery employee, described the piece as “au courant,” highlighting its contemporary appeal and relevance. The Romany Kramoris Gallery has already sold several of these unique works, priced at $520 each. Timberlake, on his part, maintains he only had one martini and followed friends home. His next court date is virtual, scheduled for July 26 at Sag Harbor Village Justice Court. Despite this legal hurdle, his North American tour promoting his latest album, Everything I Thought It Was, continues. https://news.artnet.com/art-world/godfrey-lohman-justin-timberlake-mugshot-print-2508667 https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/justin-timberlake-mugshot-hamptons-gallery-1235053359/ https://pagesix.com/2024/07/02/entertainment/justin-timberlake-mugshot-is-art-at-sag-harbor-gallery-happy/ Opening image: ZUMA Press, Inc. / Alamy Stock Photo Quote
