Is ChatGPT down? [July 17, 2024]

ChatGPT appears to be experiencing a partial outage with "elevated error rates" on July 17, according to OpenAI's official status page.

 

 

A check on DownDetector showed the volume of user reports surging above regular levels since around 11:22AM Eastern Time.

 

Some users have also taken to social media to indicate connectivity issues.

 

 

However, our visit to chatgpt.com (at the time of this post) loaded normally. We also managed to prompt the chatbot successfully without any noticeable glitches, so it's likely that the issue is only affecting some users only.
