Zelle is reportedly down for many users on August 8, according to Downdetector.

 

Based on the graph showing on the outage tracking service, the volume of user reports surged since 12:22AM Eastern Time and continued to fluctuate at an elevated level.

 

Many users have also taken to social media to indicate connectivity issues.

 

Zelle is a peer-to-peer payment network that allows users to swiftly and securely transfer money from their bank account to another individual’s bank account. This service, which is integrated into more than 1,700 banking apps, offers a convenient way to manage transactions without incurring any fees. In 2023, Zelle users sent $490 billion on 1.8 billion transactions, and nearly 3,000 financial institutions joined the Zelle network. As of 2024, Zelle’s user base has grown to approximately 73.2 million.
