Unfortunately, it’s not all fun and games, as controversy looms large over the internet star’s empire. Donaldson’s new venture, MrBeast Lab, features an array of collectible figures and interactive playthings that are designed to capture young imaginations. Co-developed with Australian company Moose Toys, it includes tiny ‘Swarms’ you grow in fizzy solutions inside test tubes and ‘Mutators’, where kids can “mutate” a panther into a mega beast through a unique unboxing experience. Adding to the launch are vinyl figures inspired by MrBeast’s iconic logo, with different variations such as glow-in-the-dark and metallic editions. For those looking for something even more exclusive, MrBeast Lab Collector Figures feature larger, hyper-detailed feline figures packaged in silver briefcases, with rare, elite versions available in limited quantities. The timing of the release has raised eyebrows. While Donald’s world of toys expands, his real-world kingdom faces serious challenges. July 2024 saw a flurry of allegations against former team member Ava Kris Tyson, who was accused of inappropriate interactions with minors. These claims were quickly followed by sexual assault complaints from an ex-employee. Tyson, however, has denied the accusations. Furthermore, contestants on Donaldson’s Amazon show, Beast Games, have come forward to report unsafe working conditions, including inadequate food during filming. In response, Donaldson has hired a law firm to investigate the claims and implemented company-wide sensitivity training, but the damage to his squeaky-clean image is done.
