Prepare to be transported on a nostalgic journey through gaming history! The highly anticipated Nintendo Museum is set to open its doors on October 2, 2024, in Uji City, Kyoto. This immersive experience invites visitors on a remarkable journey through Nintendo's evolution, from humble playing card beginnings to its status as a global gaming giant.

A Museum of Gaming History

Housed in a beautifully renovated factory that once produced Nintendo's iconic playing cards, the museum seamlessly blends old-world charm with cutting-edge design. Explore engaging exhibits showcasing the company's incredible journey, from the pixelated charm of the NES to the revolutionary Nintendo Switch. The second floor boasts a massive exhibition space, a treasure trove of Nintendo's rich history, meticulously organized by era and console.

Interactive Fun and Exploration

The first floor is a playground for gamers of all ages. Unleash your inner child and conquer oversized controllers in interactive experiences that bring Nintendo's beloved games to life. While you'll receive 10 digital coins upon entry on your customizable Mii card, the museum suggests planning your adventures wisely, as there might not be enough coins to experience everything.

Enhance your museum experience by participating in one of the museum's special 'Craft & Play' workshops. Learn the art of Hanafuda with the 'Try Playing Hanafuda!' workshop, or unleash your creativity and craft your own Hanafuda deck with the 'Let's Make Hanafuda!' workshop. Both workshops require an additional fee on top of the admission ticket, but the joy of taking home your creations is priceless.

Beyond the interactive fun, the museum offers:

  • A Nostalgic Shopping Spree: Discover exclusive Nintendo merchandise, from stylish clothing to unique collectibles.
  • Culinary Delights: Refuel at the museum café, offering delicious drinks and customizable burgers inspired by Nintendo's beloved characters. The café even lets you create your own burger from a staggering 270,000 combinations!
