Naomi Osaka is back on the court, and she’s not just acing her tennis game—she’s serving major fashion looks too. Since her return to tennis, Osaka has been a force to be reckoned with, both in matches and on the style front. Her unique sense of fashion, a vibrant blend of athleticism and high-end design, has become a major talking point, adding a whole new dimension to the sport, especially in the wake of fashion-forward Serena Williams’ retirement.

Gone are the days of standard tennis whites. The Japanese star's new look is all about bold statements and eye-catching designs. Remember her custom Nike kit at Wimbledon? It was a showstopper, turning heads with its unconventional design featuring intricate ruffles. But this year’s US Open has taken things to a whole new level, leaving fashion critics and fans alike positively bow-led over.

For her warm-up, Osaka stole the show in a white cropped bomber jacket with an oversized green bow. Underneath, she donned a green tennis skirt with a white petticoat, adding a touch of whimsy. The entire ensemble was adorned with no less than ten playful bows, a clear indication of the theme to come.

When it came time to take to the court, the 26 year-old unveiled the full force of her fashion statement. She sported a vibrant green sleeveless Nike dress in a summer color dubbed ‘Brat’green, featuring even more ruffles cascading down the skirt and armholes. A white bow graced the back of the dress, tying the entire look together. The theme extended beyond the dress – her white Nike Zoom GP Challenge 1 shoes boasted a green bow on the back heel, and even her signature Beats headphones were transformed into an elaborate “Lolita”-style headdress with pearls and bows.

This fashion revolution is the result of Osaka’s collaboration with Nike and designer Yoon Ahn (co-founder of Tokyo label AMBUSH), extending far beyond the US Open. Their partnership has produced a truly unforgettable on-court wardrobe featuring layers of tulle, oversized bows, and a playful “Lolita goth”-inspired aesthetic. It’s a maximalist dream that starkly contrasts with traditional tennis attire minimalism. The outfits perfectly embody Osaka’s personality—confident, playful, and unafraid to push boundaries. By co-designing an entire line with Nike Women by Yoon, Osaka is solidifying her position as a style icon in the making, seamlessly blending athletic prowess with cutting-edge style.

As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on Osaka—not just for her powerful serves and backhand shots, but for what fashion statement she’ll make next. After her dominant 6-3, 6-2 victory over Jelena Ostapenko in the first round, it’s clear that Osaka is ready to ruffle some feathers and take a bow at the end of the tournament.

Fans, are you excited to see what she’ll wear next? More importantly, will fashion’s newest Grand Slam champion maintain her winning form?
