As the world moves toward smarter, more intuitive electric vehicles, manual key fobs will soon become a relic of the past. At the given moment, drivers can use anything from cards to mobile applications to unlock their cars’ doors.

To bring this trend a step further into the future, Genesis has unveiled its latest GV60 vehicle, which boasts the ability for owners to step into the driving seat just by using facial or fingerprint recognition technology.

The luxury arm of the Hyundai group recently introduced ‘Face Connect’ and Fingerprint Authentication System’, two technologies that offer drivers the convenience of forgoing a car key altogether, relying on the vehicle to recognize one’s face to lock or unlock its doors.
