KFC Enlists Gamers Worldwide To Recreate Its Fried Chicken In ‘Legend Of Zelda’

KFC recently entered into a unique collaboration with Speedrun Espanol to bring its iconic fried chicken to the world of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK). This venture, named ‘The Recipe Run,’ drew the participation of gamers from 17 different countries, who attempted to replicate KFC’s signature chicken within the virtual confines of the game.At stake was a gold trophy shaped like a chicken thigh, valued at €11,000 (US$11,560). Contestants were tasked with the virtual gathering of ingredients, including chicken, oil, and a specific blend of 11 herbs and spices, all within the realm of Tears of the Kingdom.

According to the fast-food brand, 2,500 contestants in Spain participated, and as a result, its web traffic increased by 58% during the competition.
