Dave Tai Posted February 22 Posted February 22 (edited) It's a leap year, and that means rare individuals born on February 29th will finally celebrate their birthday after a three-year wait. With only about 5 million leap year babies across the globe, this often overlooked community will return to a world without their birthday in the next three years, until now. In a playful celebration of leap year babies, experiential design agency The Merry Men Works has embarked on a design project to create a calendar just for leap year babies. This 4-year calendar spans from 2025 to 2028, replacing 1st March on non-leap years with 29th February to reclaim the birthdays of leap year babies. Each year of the calendar embraces all things Leap Year Baby, from tongue-in-cheek fun facts about unlikely odds to quotes about the unique experience of being a leap year baby. Inspiration for the project started from within the agency. Ivan Yak, the Creative Lead, is a Leap Year baby himself. “On non-leap years, my birthday doesn’t even exist on my calendar. And we thought it would be a fun project this leap year day to create something that brings a smile to fellow leap year babies and make them feel seen,” said Ivan. Paying homage to Leap Year babies, a limited quantity of calendars, priced at S$29.02 each, will go on sale on TMMW.SG/SHOP at 12 AM on the 29th of February 2024 GMT+08:00. Calendars will only be available in Singapore. Edited February 26 by Community Quote
