Porsche rolls out new e-hybrid variants of the Panamera

The Porsche 4 E-Hybrid and 4S E-Hybrid are the latest additions to the Porsche Panamera lineup, bringing a new level of electrified performance to the luxury sedan segment. These models are equipped with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, paired with an all-new electric motor, delivering a combined output of 463 horsepower for the 4 E-Hybrid and 536 horsepower for the 4S E-Hybrid.

 

The new electric motor, nestled into the housing of an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, is more powerful than its predecessor. This allows the Panamera hybrids to deliver similar output levels while shifting the balance of power towards electricity. The result is an increase in efficiency, with fuel economy estimates expected to improve significantly from the 2023 EPA rating of 22 mpg combined.

 

One of the key features of these new models is the larger battery pack, boasting a nearly 50% increase in storage capacity. Despite the increase, the new battery fits into the same space as the previous generation, suggesting a significant advancement in battery technology. This, along with the new 11-kilowatt onboard charger, allows for faster charging speeds and a greater all-electric driving range.

 

The Porsche 4 E-Hybrid and 4S E-Hybrid are not just about power and efficiency. They also come with advanced battery management programming that can incorporate navigation information to optimize battery usage3.
