EV upstart Rivian has recently unveiled its latest models: the R2, R3, and R3X. These new additions to Rivian’s lineup are making waves in the electric car market, promising to bring high performance and affordability to consumers.

The Rivian R2, officially unveiled at an event in Laguna Beach, California, is a compact electric SUV that’s expected to hit the market in mid-2026. With a starting price of around $45,000, the R2 is designed to be an affordable option for those looking to make the switch to electric. The R2 is about the same size as compact luxury SUVs such as the Porsche Macan and the BMW X3, and will come with a choice of three motor configurations and two battery sizes.

The Rivian R3 and its performance variant, the R3X, are set to be the brand’s smallest electric SUVs yet. The R3 shares a platform with the R2 but has a five-inch shorter wheelbase. The R3X, on the other hand, is geared more towards adventure, featuring three electric motors, wider wheels and tires, and higher ground clearance. Both the R3 and R3X are expected to join Rivian’s lineup in the next few years, likely as 2027 models.

The Rivian R3 is expected to start around $37,000 and can go up to $47,000 depending on the trim and options. The Rivian R3X, being a performance variant, is expected to be priced higher than the R3. However, the exact pricing details for the R3X have not been officially announced yet.
